It is more than six minutes long. But, I think it is a good use of time and I really don't think anyone could turn this off. This is an excellent example of what you can do if you genuinely care about the community and the people your cover.

Okay, Okay, OKAY
So, I'm a little late to the game. I've been really busy doing the job I'm paid to do. And I always thought that left little time to share my opinions in a blog. Sure, millions of people find the time, but dammit, I was busy.
Well, after doing a little self-inventory, I've noticed that I waste about as much time as anybody else in the average day, especially after the butt hits the couch and the tv goes on at night.
I want to use this blog to expand what I try to do in my job: celebrate outstanding broadcast journalism.
I've seen some troubling trends in our industry and no one voice will ever change that. But a bunch of voices, in dozens and dozens of newsrooms, sharing ideas and inspirations, maybe we can all turn this around. Maybe we can raise the bar. Maybe we can do stories and newscasts that we are proud of. Maybe we can do stories that will make a difference in people's lives and make our news an essential part of their lives. I believe we can.
But, I'll need your help. If you see a great story, send me a link, I'll put it here and we can all watch it. Think of it as a consultant you don't have to pay for and you don't have to obey. Wouldn't that just be AWESOME?
